Jobs for Volunteers

We always need volunteers! Please send us your suggestions with the form provided below.

The School - a registered charity - is almost entirely run by member volunteers, and volunteering means lower membership and enrolment fees. However, recently there has been a decline in the number of adult volunteers. As the School cannot run without members' commitment and active involvement, we need your help!

Volunteering means also lower fees!

Broadly speaking, the areas in which we are looking for help are:

  • Committee membership (Please contact Head Teacher Marianne Juusela-Howard)
  • There will be an Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the School in October to which all members are invited.
  • Everyday running of the school services (see below)
  • Fundraising (organising/helping at events)
  • (Supply)Teaching/Assisting in the classroom (Marianne Juusela-Howard)

Jobs on Offer

We need fresh bread at the cafe!

The school cafe needs proper Finnish rye bread for sandwiches. We can order it from the Church, but would need transport. Could you fetch a bread order for the Finnish School from the Finnish Church in London (33 Albion St, London, SE16 7H)?

If you can help, email to Pirkko (pirkko@suomikoulu.com) so we can agree details.

We are hoping to introduce various rotas for School Saturdays and also need help with organising fundraising and other events throughout the year.
